Since 1978

About the Jets.

A Seattle field-hockey tradition built around friendly competition and a love of the game.

Our story

The club began in 1978 as the University of Washington Field Hockey team. It was started by brothers Hector and Trevor Fernandes, who had discovered the sport through tournament play and wanted to build a home for it in Seattle.

The early team travelled to Vancouver for tournaments and held practices at Husky Stadium. As interest grew, the club expanded into a university team and a Seattle field-hockey team, creating a welcoming path for players new to the area and to the sport.

Over the years, the club has competed throughout the Pacific Northwest and beyond while preserving the social, international spirit that makes field hockey special. Seattle Jets continues that tradition today: play hard, welcome people in, and enjoy the community around the game.

A club for the whole community. We welcome players of all backgrounds, ages, and levels of experience.
